This accessibility statement applies to Slough Borough Council Adult Social Care Portal, https://lasadultsportal.slough.gov.uk/web/portal/pages/home

This website is run by Slough Borough Council. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:
  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts
  • zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
  • navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
*listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)

We've also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.

Technical information about this website

Slough Borough Council Adult Social Care Portal is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1   AA standard, due to the non-compliances, listed below.

Non-accessible content

The link wrapping the logo in the footer contains the same text on both the alt attribute and used by aria-labelledby. So, this text may be repeated twice for screen reader users when reading the logo link. This fails WCAG 1.1.1: Non-text Content (A). We have a ticket raised for this issue and will update estimated dates for fix once we have been informed.

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.
Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

Some text in the top menu bar is not included in an ARIA landmark. ARIA roles should contain children and be contained by parents.  This ensures <li> elements are used semantically.   People who use assistive technologies might find it difficult or impossible to use a child control if its managing control lacks the required parent role.

Generated PDFs are not structured and aren't saved as a PDF, so aren't tagged or structured for those using screen readers or assistive technologies.  This fails WCAG 4.1.2: Name, role value.

Liquidlogic are working towards fixing these issues in future upgrades and hope to have this done by the end of February 2023.

If you find an issue that we have yet to identify, please contact us using one of the routes described in the 'Reporting accessibility problems with this website' section of this statement.
